چکیده
Degradation of tetracycline (TTC) with a heterogeneous Fenton-like pyrite/H2O2 process by pyrite from mine waste as mineral catalyst was investigated. The study focused on identifying the main oxidizing agents and degradation mechanisms along operational variables including solution pH, H2O2 concentration, contact time, temperature, initial TTC concentration. Catalyst characterization tests revealed that is mesoporous powder high degree FeS2 purity. Radical scavenger demonstrated •OH agent generated both surface phase reactions. During process, more than 85% mineralized in 60 min maximum removal attained at an acidic pH value (4.1). most abundant transformation products TTC, formed attack radicals, were simple chain carboxylic acids. Cultured cells human embryonic kidney (HEK) used for cytotoxicity assessment raw treated solutions. results illustrated viability HEK enhanced considerably after treating solutions under optimal conditions. Accordingly, originating practically effective cost-effective systems mineralization emerging contaminants such antibiotics.

Efficient Fenton like degradation of Methylene blue in aqueous solution by using Fe3O4 nanoparticles as catalyst
Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared hydrothermally and characterized by X-Ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was found that these nanoparticles can act as an efficient catalyst in the degradation of Methylene blue dye in aqueous solution in a Fenton like system in presence of 30% perhydrol. Uv-Vis spectroscopy was used to determine the concentration of ...
متن کاملHeterogeneous UV/Fenton degradation of TBBPA catalyzed by titanomagnetite: catalyst characterization, performance and degradation products.
Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA), a widely used brominated flame retardant, could negatively affect various aspects of mammalian and human physiology, which triggers effective techniques for its removal. In this work, the degradation characteristics of TBBPA in heterogeneous UV/Fenton reaction catalyzed by titanomagnetite (Fe(3-x)Ti(x)O₄) were studied. Batch tests were conducted to evaluate the ef...
